Burial Benefit Amount in 2025

The burial benefit is a one-time reimbursement to whoever paid for the funeral: a relative, friend, or funeral agency under contract. Kinship is not required.

The payment is not taxed and does not affect other benefits. It reimburses money already spent — so keep receipts and the agency contract.

For resort district residents the procedure is the same as across the krai: SFR, employer, or military commissariat — depending on the deceased's status.

The base amount is 9,135.37 rubles. The figure is indexed annually; confirm the current amount at SFR when filing.

Higher payments apply to Great Patriotic War veterans, siege survivors, and Heroes of Russia. Krasnodar Krai sometimes has regional supplements — ask at your local SFR office.

The benefit covers only part of expenses. Full funeral cost at the resort is usually higher — the agent quotes an estimate in advance and explains which receipts to attach.

Pensioners and unemployed — SFR. Those employed under contract — employer first. Military personnel — relevant authorities.

SFR offices serving Lazarevskoye district are based in Sochi. The agency may process payment under contract if the organization paid for the funeral — convenient when the family is at the resort only briefly.

Filing deadline — six months from the date of death. Miss it and the right to payment is lost.

Applicant's passport, application, death certificate (No. 11) from ZAGS, proof of payment: receipts, invoices, contract with the funeral agency.

Through an employer — additionally confirmation of employment with the deceased. The agent provides the full list for your case.

Without proof of payment SFR will refuse. Keep everything from the moment you sign the funeral contract.

By law — on the day of application with a complete package. In practice at Sochi SFR — from a few hours to one business day.

If something is missing, staff will say what. The agent helps complete the package and resubmit.

Do not postpone until the last weeks of the six-month period — especially if you are leaving the resort after the funeral.

If the family cannot pay for the ceremony, state-funded burial within the base benefit may be available: simple coffin, transport to the morgue, burial at Lazarevskoye Cemetery under a minimal scenario.

Terms are clarified at consultation. Federal rules are the same for the resort and the region.
