Cemeteries in Lazarevskoye and Sochi: How to Choose a Burial Site

Choosing a cemetery is one of the most important decisions when organizing a funeral. Lazarevskoye and Sochi have several active cemeteries with different conditions: available plots, distance from home, rules for urn and family burial. The funeral agent helps navigate options, obtains the burial permit, and agrees the ceremony date with cemetery administration.

Cemeteries in Lazarevskoye and Sochi: How to Choose a Burial Site

Why the cemetery should be chosen early

The burial place determines how often relatives can visit, whether the road from Lazarevskoye's embankment is convenient, and whether related burial beside ancestors is allowed.

At the resort families decide quickly — often within a day of confirmation of death. Without advance checks you may face no available plots or a queue for paperwork.

The agent knows the rules of Lazarevskoye Cemetery and other coastal necropolises. We suggest an option for earth burial, urn, or columbarium after cremation.

Lazarevskoye Cemetery and nearby burial grounds

The district's main cemetery serves residents of seaside neighborhoods, Dagomys, Vardane, and Golubaya Dacha. Many families choose it so the grave is within easy reach of home or a dacha.

Before booking the funeral date the agent checks with administration: available plots, burial beside previously interred relatives, required certificates, and ceremony hours.

If close relatives are already buried on the plot, related burial is often possible — with sanitary compliance and written permission. We handle paperwork and agree depth and location.

Cemeteries in central Sochi and neighboring settlements

The deceased's registration does not require burial in Lazarevskoye — the family may choose a necropolis in central Sochi or closer to relatives elsewhere in the krai.

When burying outside the resort, funeral transport from Lazarevskoye, administration hours, and church rites must be agreed in advance. We plan the route via Dagomys or directly along the highway.

For relatives flying in from other cities, the agent becomes the sole local contact: permits, crosses, wreaths, grave care between visits.

Securing a plot: step by step

After the death certificate from ZAGS, an application is filed with the chosen cemetery administration. A permit is issued with date, time, and plot number — without it no ceremony can take place.

The package includes the death certificate, applicant's passport, and prescribed application. For a family plot — documents proving the right to burial in the same grave.

The date is agreed with the cemetery, Lazarevskoye church (if funeral rites are planned), and coffin transport schedule. Wreaths, dressing clothes, and a temporary cross are prepared in parallel.

Columbarium and urn burial at the resort

After cremation the urn may be placed in a columbarium — Lazarevskoye Cemetery and several Sochi necropolises have such sections. A niche takes less space than a full grave and is easier to maintain for families not living on the coast.

Cost depends on level, location, and niche type. The agent selects an option, obtains the permit, and organizes urn installation with funeral rites if desired.

Urn burial in the ground on a shared plot is also possible — rules are confirmed with the specific cemetery administration.

After burial: cross, care, monument

In the first days a temporary wooden cross or name plaque is placed on the grave. We deliver to Lazarevskoye Cemetery and help with installation.

A permanent monument is usually ordered after the 40th day — considering cemetery rules and coastal climate. We advise on timelines and approval with administration.

Wreaths for the 9th and 40th days, plot tidying, flower replacement — order from the agency at any time, even if you have left the resort after the funeral.
